If you do not have a visa approval, Passage HIGHLY recommends that you do not register in courses.
β
βWhy? If you do not have an approved visa, you do not know when you will be able to arrive in Canada to attend classes. Even if you receive a Passport Request Letter (PPR), it can still take several weeks before you will receive your stamped passport and can book your travel. By registering in courses, you are confirming with the school that you will be able to attend class.
If you are not able to come to Canada before the Passage withdrawal deadline due to a visa refusal or a pending visa decision and you have not withdrawn from all courses, the school will charge Passage for your first semester of study, regardless of whether or not you are able to attend.
What are the potential financial penalties I could face for registering without a visa?
Please refer to your unique Passage loan agreement, and the Passage Withdrawal Policy on our website for the most up-to-date information.
What should I do if I have not received my visa before the start of my intake? We strongly recommend that you defer your start date if you have not received a visa approval 2 weeks before the start of your program. This is to ensure you have enough time to book flights, arrive in Canada, setup your bank account, find housing, and participate in essential orientation sessions at the school. If you have registered in classes before you receive an approved visa, you must sign in to the Student Portal and withdraw yourself from all courses before the 5th day of the term. Passage does not have access to your portal to do this on your behalf.
If I receive my visa approval after my program's start date, can I still travel to Canada? If you know you will be arriving late, please let us know by contacting us at [email protected] and detailing your arrival plan. We will assess each case uniquely to see how we can best support you.
