Understanding the Passage Selection Process for the Afghan Program
Updated over 8 months ago

The selection process is merit-based, aiming to identify the most outstanding candidates. At the initial stage, several critical requirements must be met to advance an application:

  • A valid passport.

  • Access to original copies of degrees and transcripts from previous educational institutions.

  • Completion of at least a high school education.

  • Ability to safely depart the country for visa processing and subsequent travel to Canada.

  • Demonstrated qualities such as self-reliance, maturity, and suitability for relocation and integration in Canada.

  • Adequate financial resources to cover basic expenses, including visa processing, travel to Canada, and application fees.

  • Achievement of the minimum required scores on an accredited English proficiency test, such as IELTS 6 (with a minimum of 5.5 in each skill), TOEFL 80 (with a minimum of 20 in each skill), Duolingo 110 (with a minimum production score of 90), Cambridge English Exam 169 (with a minimum of 162 in each skill), or PTE.

Meeting these criteria is essential, but it does not guarantee acceptance into the program. These prerequisites ensure that an application is not immediately disqualified.
