Notify IRCC of school change

Suppose you have a valid study permit and are planning to change your school. In that case, it is essential to notify Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) of any changes to your post-secondary institution. For further details, please visit this link. You can also find specific instructions on how to update your information through this link.

Extend the study permit

The expiration date on your study permit shows when you need to stop studying and leave Canada. If you plan to continue your studies, you must apply for an extension at least 30 days before it expires. If your permit expires without an extension, you must leave Canada. For further details and to apply, please visit this link from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

International Student Advisors

International Student Advisors can assist with a range of common inquiries about immigration matters, such as extending study permits, applying for a co-op work permit and post-graduate permit, and understanding the rules for working on or off campus.

At George Brown College, these advisors are available to help with these issues and more. You can visit this link to find out who your advisor is and how to meet with them.
